The Main Ridge is literally the backbone of the island, Gutting lengthways across two thirds of Tobago's surface. This area receives the greatest amount of rainfall, the greatest exposure to wind and the lowest temperatures, making it an Evergreen Forest. it is estimated that the rainforest provides habitats for twelve to sixteen species of mammals twenty-four non-poisonous snakes, sixteen lizards and two hundred and ten species of birds, the most outstanding being the bird species Campylopterus ensipennis - the White-tailed Sabrewing Hummingbird - that is both rare and endemic to Tobago. A unique feature of about the fauna of Tobago is that although Tobago is an island, the fauna are continental in origin, since Tobago was once joined to the South American continent some one million years ago. Hence Tobago is not a conventional sun, sea and sand destination; instead, also attract visitors interested in its lush tropical rainforests, coralreef teeming with exotic wildlife. There are also beautiful and remote beaches where enormous leatherback turtles keep return year after year to lay their eggs. Buccoo Coral Reef, reef off the southwestern coast of Tobago. It consists of five reef flats surrounding Bon Accord Lagoon. Buccoo, noted for its submarine gardens, has long been a popular tourist attraction. It is a protected marine park located a short distance off Buccoo Beach, Pigeon Point and Store Bay. The reef has a fascinating, colourful underwater life. World famous French oceanographer and explorer Jacques Cousteau visited Tobago's Buccoo Reef and rated it as the third most spectacular reef in the world.

We organize daily tours to the coral reef using glass-bottom boats, which allow you to view the reef from inside. the boat tours also include a visit to Nylon Pool - so named by Princess Margaret on her visit there in 1962. Nylon Pool is a shallow white sand area just behind the Buccoo Reef. The waters of Nylon Pool are said to have the ability to rejuvenate anyone lucky enough to swim in it.
